Graduate students Elizabeth Lane and Jessica Schoenherr were awarded a $5,000 research fellowship from the Arlen Specter Center for Public Service.  The title of their project is “‘A Matter of Great Importance’: Senator Preparation for Supreme Court Confirmation Hearings.”

The Arlen Specter Center for Public Service at Jefferson  (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) facilitates and promotes public service and civic education in a cross-disciplinary, nonpartisan setting.  Recently, they gave a talk about Supreme Court confirmation and the data found on their trip to the Archives.
