Gladden Pappin is assistant professor of politics at the University of Dallas and cofounder of American Affairs. He is also senior adviser and permanent research fellow of the de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture at the University of Notre Dame. He received his AB (history) and PhD (government) from Harvard. His writing appears in a variety of publications, including the Norton Anthology of American Political Thought.
