November 27, Lant Pritchett, Professor of the Practice of International Development, Lecture
November 27 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The LeFrak Forum and Symposium on Science, Reason & Modern Democracy in association with the Reason Foundation present a lecture by Lant Pritchett, Professor of the Practice of International Development and Faculty Chair of the Masters in Public Policy in International Development program at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government titled “Alleviating Global Poverty: Immigration or Foreign Aid?”
Abstract: Massive evidence shows that the development gains from labor mobility are much, much greater than those from the most costly foreign aid and targeted anti-poverty projects. The least you can do for foreign workers, namely let them in, also happens to be the best you can do for them–and much better than what can be accomplished by throwing money at them.
