The Department of Political Science at Michigan State University would like to highlight faculty engagement and faculty research in the news.

Professor Ryan Black was selected as the recipient of the 2016 College of Social Science Alumni Association Outstanding Teacher Award. He will be presented the honor at the May 2016 Social Science Graduation Ceremony.

Professor Jeff Conroy-Krutz received the Best Paper in the Journal of Politics award from the Southern Political Science Association for his paper (with Devra C. Moehler) “Moderation from Bias: A Field Experiment on Partisan Media in a New Democracy.”

Professor Melinda Gann Hall has been chosen to be a Fulbright Distinguished Chair (the Fulbright-Scotland Visiting Professorship) for 2016-17.  This awards supports her residency in the United Kingdom for six months in Spring and Summer 2017 at the University of Edinburgh School of Law.  Her research will help launch a new program of study on UK subnational courts.

Professor Arthur Melzer’s Philosophy Between the Lines.  The Lost History of Esoteric Writing received the Choice Magazine: CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title Award this year.
