Hatton, Christopher
Christopher started the MPP program in September 2010 with an
anticipated completion day of May 2012. His primary interests are
economics and the distribution of wealth in this country through
economic development. He is also interested in sustainable energy
including solar and bio-fuels.
Prior to beginning his MPP program, Christopher graduated from
Michigan State University with a degree in Economics. As an
undergrad student Christopher became interested in those whose
challenges and disabilities prevent them from competing for the same
scarce resources we?re all competing for. Despite the passage of
the ADA, he sees a lot of disparity between those without
disabilities and those who have disabilities. Some of these people
end up as homeless with no access to the benefits of citizenship in
this country.
Originally from Pleasant Ridge, MI Christopher spent seven summers
at Camp Hayo-Went-Ha on Torch Lake. He dove among the shipwrecks at
Tobermory and climbed the Cascades in eastern Oregon.
After high school graduation he moved to the Upper Peninsula where
his mother is a college professor teaching classes in organizational
management where he attended Michigan Tech University where he was
majoring in Computer Engineering. However, once he decided on a
degree in Economics he headed to East Lansing and to Michigan State
University where he is now.
