DJ entered the MPP Program in the fall of 2010. His interest in public policy has stemmed from multiple campaigns he has worked on since high school. Over the last few years, he has worked for Dayne Walling’s mayoral campaign in Flint, MI as well as for Richard Hammel in the 49th State House district and Jim Ananich in the 48th State House district.
DJ earned a B.S. in Journalism with minors in Political Science and Sign Language from Central Michigan University in the spring of 2010. While there, he worked as a sports reporter for four years for CM Life, the on-campus newspaper at CMU. He also worked as a Resident Assistant for two years.
DJ grew up in Flint, MI and his interests outside of his field of study include, bowling, golf, racquetball, watching the Detroit Lions, attending sporting events at both MSU and CMU and spending time with family and friends.
