Kennedy, Brian

Brian Kennedy entered Michigan State’s Political Science Ph.D. program in the fall of 2009. His major field is comparative politics, with a regional focus on Africa, and his minor field is methodology. Brian’s research interests are in political economy and political behavior, while his teaching interests are in comparative politics and introductory research methods.

Before coming to MSU, Brian served as associate editor of the news website allAfrica.com for three years. In that capacity, he reported on a variety of issues from Washington, DC and Cape Town, South Africa, and also made occasional media appearances. He graduated from Davidson College cum laude with honors in political science in 2006. He is originally from just outside Portland, Oregon. In his free time, Brian cheers on Davidson basketball and Oregon State football, and plays golf.
