Dolgoy, Erin

Erin Dolgoy is a fourth year PhD student in political theory and American politics. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, ancient and modern political thought, the philosophic origins of the modern scientific project, and American political thought. Before leaving Canada and arriving at MSU, Erin earned a B.A. (Honors) in political science from the University of Toronto (2003) and an M.A. in political science, with a concentration in political theory, from the University of Alberta (2006). She completed her comprehensives examinations in the Fall of 2008 and is currently writing her dissertation proposal which focuses on the religious, moral, and political preconditions, identified in Francis Bacon's Essays, that made possible the modern scientific project. For the first three years of her degree, Erin held an H.B. Earhart Foundation fellowship.
