Caucus: Republican
Description: An intern would be expected to provide assistance to Representative Kesto and members the office, ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, general office management and miscellaneous tasks. Some responsibilities will include answering phones, monitoring legislation, research and written correspondence to groups and individuals within the 39th District. Students will gain valuable hands-on office experience in a fast-paced environment. Hours are negotiable.
Salary Range: School Credit (if applicable)
Minimum Qualifications: Previous office experience, letter writing skills and knowledge of the Legislature and the legislative process is a plus but not required. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required. Excellent telephone, written communication skills and a positive attitude preferred.

The Gary Johnson 2016 presidential campaign is looking for interns to work over the next few weeks leading up to the election, primarily phone banking and canvassing. Office of State Senator Margaret O’Brien
Our office is a fast-paced work environment that can give a student of any party affiliation a solid legislative base upon which to expand. We are looking for interns who are eager to jump right in and get involved in the office. Our interns mainly handle constituent correspondence by preparing congratulatory notes for Senator O’Brien to send to constituents, but our interns also have the opportunity to gain writing experience through drafting commendations and the opportunity to research and track legislation through the legislative process. We are looking for someone to start right away and are very flexible on hours. We are happy to offer the internship for credit or just as a way to break into the political sphere here in Michigan.
