Abbey Frazier is a 2013 graduate of Michigan State University with a major in economics. Abbey entered the MPP Program in the fall of 2016 and she currently works as a policy fellow for Michigan State’s Institute for Public Policy and Social Research. Abbey’s policy interests include economic and social welfare policy, with a special interest in fiscal policy and its impact on poverty and employment. Since graduation, Abbey has worked as a budget & policy analyst for the State Budget Office covering health and social welfare policy and financing. During her undergraduate studies she worked as an intern for the Michigan governor and a research assistant for the Michigan Bureau of Labor Market Information, providing demographic information and research studies relating to Michigan labor economics. Abbey is originally from Lansing, Michigan. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, traditional Irish dance and spending time in the mountains.
Following an expected graduation date in 2018, Abbey hopes to continue working in the public sector, either in a research-oriented capacity or an advisory role relating to the recommendation of public policy.
