Cristina BodeaCristina Bodea is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Michigan State University. Bodea joined the MSU faculty in 2006. She received a PhD degree from the University of Rochester (2006) and she joined the Political Science Department following a post doctoral research fellowship at Princeton University. Her dissertation examines the politics of exchange rates and central banks in Eastern Europe and Former Soviet Union. Her other project looks at budget deficits in transition economies focusing on the role of independent central banks and democratic governance. More recently, she has been studying civil war, coups, and low intensity violence as alternative manifestations of conflict within the borders of the state. |
