Daniel Newton

Daniel graduated from MSU in the Spring of 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Political Science. He has worked for nonprofit housing cooperatives in East Lansing and Davis, California and served for a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA in the Lansing area. In the Summer of 2019, Daniel began a Grad Assistantship with the Office of K-12 Outreach in the College of Education and a legislative internship with State Representative Kevin Hertel’s office.

Daniel’s interests lie within Urban and Education policy areas. After graduating he plans to join the public sector and work for the state of Michigan or one of its unique cities.

Daniel is a native of northern Michigan and loves exploring the cities, forests, and shorelines that make his home state so distinctive. His hobbies include reading, playing games (tabletop, pen&paper), and spoiling his 2 year-old nephew as much as possible.
