Josiah Bear has unique skill sets involving politics and music. Josiah’s past performance as a youth participant in Capital Experience, a Michigan State University Extension program, exceeded the expectation of his leaders, and lead to an internship when he started college. He also interned for former Representative of the Michigan 97th District, Joel Johnson. Through these experiences he learned that he has a passion for people and hopes to work to promote individuals and struggling people around our nation. In the music side of his life, he had the opportunity to play lead parts for bands across the State of Michigan, the most recent being the Michigan State Symphony Band, The Spartan Marching Band, Michigan State University Concert Band, and MSU Jazz Orchestra Three. Josiah also manages a McDonald’s located in East Lansing. When Josiah is not changing the world with his politics or entertaining people with music, he enjoys working on his Land Rover, reading, hunting, and doing projects on his family’s farm. Josiah also enjoys spending time with family. He is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars at MSU. Josiah is finishing his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Michigan State University, as well as pursing a Master’s of Public Policy and a Music Degree with his principle instrument the trumpet.
