Lauren Hamelink is a 2016 graduate of Grand Valley State University, where she obtained a B.A. in International Relations with minors in Middle East Studies and Arabic. Lauren begins the MPP program in the fall of 2017 and plans to complete the program by the end of 2019. Her policy interests include immigration and foreign policy. Prior to entering the program she interned with the West Michigan Refugee Education Center and studied abroad in Amman, Jordan. She is originally from Madison Heights, MI but has lived in the Grand Rapids area for the past five years. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys reading anything and everything and playing with her cat, Lily.
