Marcie’s research interests include topics related to the question of development as a human right, governance and Islam, and transitional justice. Her regional focus is the Middle East and North Africa.
Marcie graduated from Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota with a B.A. in International Studies. Her semester abroad in Rabat, Morocco grounded her undergraduate focus on human rights and humanitarianism. Here she completed an original research project on the transparency of Morocco’s National Initiative for Human Development and the program’s effectiveness in its stated goal of closing the urban and rural poverty gap.
She completed two AmeriCorps terms of service from 2012-2014.
