Ryan Tinsley is in his final year at Michigan State University completing Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Arabic and a minor in Economics. His policy interests are broad, but are centered around urban policy and economic development. More specifically, he is interested in using data analytics to help incorporate new technologies into economic development strategies in cities. His experience includes an internship in the Michigan House of Representatives, research for MSU faculty, and an internship with the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA) in Detroit through the Department of Political Science’s InnovateGov program. This fall, he will be working with some of the RTA’s lobbyists and consultants in Lansing. Following graduation, Ryan plan’s to pursue an additional master’s degree in data science, specifically as it applies to public policy.
