Shu Wang (Ph.D., University of Illinois at Chicago, 2015) is an assistant professor of Political Science at Michigan State University. Her research interests include fiscal federalism, state and local finance, public management, and intergovernmental relations. Her current research projects investigate state-imposed constraints on local revenue-raising and their effects on efficiency and effectiveness of service provision. She also uses both qualitative and quantitative methods to explore innovative ways through which local governments cope with fiscal distress. She is also interested in organizational behavior in the public sector, and how public organizations innovate differently than their private counterparts.
