I am a 2019 Graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Sociology and a minor in Spanish. My policy interests include healthcare policy, poverty, and
Tribal law/Indigenous rights.
During my undergrad, I primarily examined the impact of systemic social inequality on
marginalized populations within the United States. As a McNair scholar, I qualitatively analyzed
newspaper representations of missing and murdered Indigenous women in the U.S. I presented
my work at both the Midwest Sociological Association and the Michigan Sociological
Association annual conferences, as well as multiple other research projects across the
Midwest. I also interned for the GVSU Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship,
helping with research for future McNair cohorts.
I currently work as a data analyst for Kids Count at the Michigan League for Public Policy,
helping assess child wellbeing throughout the state of Michigan. I work with diverse populations all over Michigan to help with data requests, collection, and presenting the Kids Count data to
