  • Master of Public Policy Student
  • Department of Political Science

Alfred Kwadzo Torsu hails from Agbozume, a small village in the south-eastern part of Ghana. He graduated from the University of Ghana (UG) in 2017 where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (major) and Adult Education (minor).

In 2019, Alfred joined the Public Policy Management track of the Young African Leaders Initiative Program (YALI). He also interned with Afrobarometer, an African opinion polling organization, where he gained deeper insights on African opinions and expectations. These experiences shaped his academic interests in Civic Education, Democratic Governance, Public Finance and Political Economic Development in third world countries, particularly in Africa. He looks forward to building a research career with an Africa-focused think tank, lecturing in universities in his home country, or as a programs officer with an international organization.

When Alfred is not studying something on Africa and its people, he watches soccer or listens to different genres of music. His favourites musicians are Miles Davies and Daddy Lumba.
