Alicia Venchuk earned an Honors BA in English Language and Literature, and a minor in American Culture, from the University of Michigan.

Alicia has experience as a first-year writing instructor and graduate teaching assistant, as well as a policy research intern for the Citizens Research Council of Michigan.

Alicia is also a blues and jazz guitarist and vocalist. Over the years, she has received awards for her musicianship in addition to performing at the Detroit Jazz Festival, Umbria Jazz Festival, and other venues. She has also developed and presented her own lecture and musical tribute to women blues guitarists for colleges and continuing education programs.

 Alicia is interested in social policy, specifically issues affecting higher education, women, and labor policy. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in higher education, research, or the public sector.
