Gabrielle Wihongi entered the program as a Linked BA/MPP student, and is hoping to graduate in May of 2021 with both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Public Policy with Minors in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Law, Justice, and Public Policy from MSU. She is specifically interested in public policies related to the environment and natural resources, education, and sexual assault. Gabrielle has had experience working in Washington DC at the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Office of the General Counsel at MSU, the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, MSU’s undergraduate student government, and as a Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Peer Educator. Upon completing the MPP Program, Gabrielle hopes to be granted dual citizenship in New Zealand so she can move there for a few years and learn from an extremely environmentally progressive country. She plans to find a full-time career working on environmental policy or in a government agency.
