MSU Department of Political Science is pleased to annouce the hiring of Dr. Jenny Wolak as professor of political science. Dr. Wolak is moving to MSU from the University of Colorado. Her research interests include political psychology and public opinion.
"The Department is extremely excited to welcome Professor Wolak back to her home state of Michigan. I would like to thank the Provost, the College of Social Science, and the work of many key faculty for helping us getting her here. Jennifer's scholarly record of expertise extends across areas of political psychology, gender and politics, state politics, legislative politics, and American politics more generally. We are especially excited about her contributions to the College's Minority Politics thematic initiative and the bridge she will provide us to integrate faculty and students across the departments of Political Science and Psychology," said MSU PLS Chair Corwin Smidt.
Dr. Wolak earned her PhD in 2004 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has published work in the British Journal of Political Science, Political Research Quarterly, and Political Behavior, among others. Her current research projects concern the consequences of emotions in politics, the roots of attitudinal ambivalence, and the effects of campaign intensity on learning and judgment.
