Avery Cook is a first-year MPP student at Michigan State University. She is working on completing the BA-linked program, and will be finishing her Bachelor’s in Political Science in December. Avery has worked as a Congress campaign intern in Ohio, and is currently working in the Executive Office of the Governor’s Legislative Affairs Division. Last semester, she was a part of the Michigan Government Semester Program and decided to pursue public policy. Her policy interests include intertwining education, health and human services, and urban policies to expand communities and their opportunities. After graduation, Avery hopes to continue to work in state government and shape constructive policies that benefit the people.
