Please join us for the inaugural “PLS Five Things to Know” series with Assistant Professor Dr. Ian Ostrander as he shares “Five Things to Know about the Impeachment Process.”
Prof. Ostrander’s research and teaching focus on American political institutions with a particular emphasis on the U.S. presidency, Congress, bureaucracy, and the interaction of all three.
Specifically, his research has focused on the use of presidential signing statements, strategic delay in the executive nominations process, the development of Senate procedure, and the
importance of congressional staff. Prof. Ostrander joined MSU in the summer of 2016 after working for three years as an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech. In 2013, he received his Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis while also serving as a 2012-13 APSA Congressional Fellow in working for Senator Claire McCaskill’s office in Washington, D.C.
