PLS Academic Advisor wins College Student Impact Award

Krista ZeigKrista Zeig was chosen by the College of Social Science Dean's Student Advisory Council as the recipient of the 2024 Student Impact Award. This award recognizes an advisor for the positive impact they have on students in the college.

The announcement was made May 29 by the Office of Undergraduate Affairs in the College of Social Science.

“We’re so proud of Krista for receiving this well-earned recognition. She is a truly valued member of the PLS team, and our majors benefit tremendously from her advising and advocacy,” said Political Science Chair Jeff Conroy-Krutz.

The Dean's Student Advisory Council consists of 26 undergraduate students in good standing within a degree-granting program in the College of Social Science. Representing Political Science this year were Artin Yekeh Yazandoost, Meera Kanade and Malcom Charles.

Krista Zeig is an academic advisor in the Department of Political Science. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and her Master’s Degree in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University. In her advising role, Krista works with both undergraduate and Master of Public Policy graduate students. She also teaches a course focused on career and professional development. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 daughters, exercising, and watching true crime documentaries.
