BIOGRAPHY

Emmah Bashir is a first-year Master of Public Policy student at Michigan State University. She holds a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University in upstate New York. Before entering the MPP program, Emmah worked as a Teaching Assistant for Jackson Public Schools, providing individualized academic and behavioral support to students with special needs in inclusive classrooms. This experience deepened her commitment to educational access and equity. Her research interests are on the intersection of education policy, accessibility, and civil rights. After graduation, Emmah plans to continue working in Michigan to improve educational outcomes for marginalized students.
