BIOGRAPHY

Natalie Elias is a graduate of Henry Ford II High School in Sterling Heights, Michigan. She is majoring in Political Science Pre-Law.

"I am very interested in how criminal justice policies such as plea bargaining and pretrial detention produce different outcomes for communities facing the same legal rules, particularly in relation to race, income, and upbringing. I also want to study how institutional practices in courts and law enforcement contribute to these disparities in how laws are applied in practice versus. how they are written. I am also open to exploring a wide range of additional research topics across different fields. After undergrad, I plan to attend law school and pursue a career as a criminal law attorney."
