BIOGRAPHY
Lucas Gravatt is a government career-oriented first-year Master of Public Policy student at Michigan State University. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, minoring in Law, Justice, and Public Policy as well as Peace and Justice Studies. Before graduate school, Lucas was a member of the Michigan Government Semester Program at MSU, obtaining an internship in the Michigan State Legislature and eventually working as a Legislative Staff member for the Michigan House of Representatives, where he is currently employed. Lucas has also worked on voter registration campaigns throughout his undergraduate career as President of MSU’s Public Interest Research Group Club. Through his endeavors he was recognized at the 2025 PLS Graduation Ceremony with the PLS Public Service Award. His current interests include state and federal governance, working with all areas of policy to find common-sense solutions to complex problems that governments deal with. He is always eager to learn more and understand where different policy positions come from, so he is committed to continuing to work in state and eventually federal government after graduation.
