AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION

Paige is specializing in public policy and American politics. Her research interests include studying public policy implementation across systems and institutions within federal, state, and local governments.  Currently her work looks at juvenile justice policy through a social construction lens to evaluate deservingness on racial and ethnic disparities within state juvenile systems in the United States. Additionally, she enjoys designing and analyzing policy field studies for experimental behavior research.

BIOGRAPHY

Paige Haight joined the Political Science Ph.D. program in the fall of 2022. She is a native Michigander and MSU alumnus who received a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in Program Evaluation and Political Science. Ms. Haight is also a Research Associate at Public Policy Associates (PPA) in Lansing, Michigan where she conducts evaluations for federal, state, and local policy initiatives. Her work specializes in policy branches that include workforce development, education (K-12 & higher education), criminal and juvenile justice, and health policy. Prior to working on her Ph.D., Ms. Haight assisted Dr. Kaston Anderson with the ACES lab at MSU where they conducted research to help understand how social determinates of health contribute to the inequality among underserved populations; and investigated community factors that facilitate positive social and environmental change.
