BIOGRAPHY

Richard C. Hula is professor emeritus of political science. Hula served as the Chair of the Department from 2001-2013. Prior to that he served as the director of the department’s Program in Public Policy and Administration (1991-96), and Associate Director of MSU’s Institute for Public Policy and Social Research (1991-1998).

Hula joined the faculty at Michigan State in 1991. Prior to coming to Michigan State he taught the University of Texas at Dallas, and the University of Maryland. He received his PhD from Northwestern University in 1975.
