BIOGRAPHY

Erin Kanaar is a first-year Master of Public Policy student at Michigan State University and is concurrently completing her B.A. in Public Policy through the Shared Bachelor and Master of Public Policy Program. She recently participated in MSU's Michigan Government Semester Program, where she interned with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in the State Trails Section of the Parks and Recreation Division. She continues to serve in that role as a Student Worker. Erin also recently studied in London through MSU's British Politics and Society Study Abroad Program, where she examined the UK's political institutions and public policy firsthand. Beyond her academic pursuits, she is deeply committed to public service, earning the MSU Spartan Volunteer Service Award each year during her undergraduate career while serving on the executive board of Alternative Spartan Breaks and participating in service trips worldwide. Her interests focus on environmental policy, and she aims to pursue a career with the National Park Service focused on conservation and community engagement.
