BIOGRAPHY

Sydni King is a Master of Public Policy student at Michigan State University. She earned her B.A. in Criminal Justice with minors in Women’s and Gender Studies and Law, Justice, and Public Policy from Michigan State. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Sydni has gained experience in federal and state government through her work with the U.S. House of Representatives, Michigan Senate, and Michigan House of Representatives. Her policy and research interests include social justice, reproductive and maternal health equity, and the intersections of race, gender, law, and public policy. She is particularly interested in Afro-feminist scholarship and advancing policies that address systemic inequities affecting Black women and underserved communities. Following her graduate studies, Sydni plans to pursue a Juris Doctor degree and build a career at the intersection of law, public policy, research, and social justice.
