BIOGRAPHY

Soyeon Park is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Michigan State University. Her research interests include International Relations, international law and organizations, with a focus on human rights.

Her dissertation examines how UN human rights treaties and their treaty bodies evolve over time and how they interact with human rights victims and advocates. Her dissertation project has been supported by the MSU Center for Gender in Global Context.

In other work, she explores the interaction between international and domestic politics, focusing on the role of non-state actors. Her research is forthcoming in International Interactions.

Soyeon holds a Graduate Certificate in Computational Modeling from MSU’s Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering. She earned M.A. degrees in Political Science from Michigan State University and Korea University, and a B.A. in Global Korean Studies and Political Science from Sogang University, where she graduated summa cum laude.
