BIOGRAPHY

Soyeon Park is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Michigan State University. Her research interests include international relations, international law and organizations, with a focus on human rights. Her dissertation examines the overlapping and evolving features of UN human rights treaties and their treaty bodies, as well as their interactions with human rights victims, advocates, and defenders. Her work has been supported by the MSU Center for Gender in Global Context. Soyeon holds a Graduate Certificate in Computational Modeling from MSU’s Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering. She earned M.A. degrees in Political Science from Michigan State University and Korea University in South Korea, and a B.A. in Global Korean Studies and Political Science from Sogang University in South Korea, where she graduated summa cum laude.
