BIOGRAPHY
Isiah Sageman is a first-year Master of Public Policy student at Michigan State University. A native of Bad Axe, Michigan, he earned his B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science from Saginaw Valley State University in 2025. Isiah’s policy interests include agriculture, rural development, national security, and sports policy.
In 2023, he interned in Washington, D.C., for Congresswoman—now Senator—Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, where he focused on agriculture, rural development, and national security issues. During his internship, he attended House Agriculture Committee hearings, met with stakeholders, and authored a co-sponsorship recommendation for H.R. 3419, the Foreign Animal Disease Prevention, Surveillance, and Rapid Response Act of 2023, which increased APHIS funding to prevent and respond to livestock disease outbreaks, which resulted in Congresswoman Slotkin co-sponsoring the legislation.
Isiah has also served as an election inspector for the City of Frankenmuth, Michigan, during the 2024 November elections and was appointed by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to the Michigan Collegiate Student Advisory Task Force, a nonpartisan group that identifies barriers to voting and proposes policy solutions, with a particular focus on smaller colleges, universities, and rural communities. In addition, he worked as a session intern for Michigan State Senator John Cherry III.
