Ethan Santangelo joined the Ph.D. program in the fall of 2018. He specializes in comparative politics and research methodology, with a focus in authoritarian institutions and political development. Current projects explore regime stability, informal and formal political institutions, and veto player development.
Prior to entering the program, Ethan graduated with High Honors from Michigan State University with a B.A. in political science and history. He worked with George Washington University’s Program on Extremism documenting Islamic State English-speaking activity on social media. Ethan also provided disaster relief and preparedness education as an AmeriCorps member for the American Red Cross.
