BIOGRAPHY

Sophie Sunderland joined the department in Fall 2023. A Florida native, Sophie earned both her B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida, with focuses in Latin American and African politics. Her research interests focus on African politics, specifically parties, party systems, and clientelism. She is also a current research assistant for Afrobarometer.
