BIOGRAPHY

Karessa has served as communications manager for the Department of Political Science since 2019. She has bachelors' degrees in Journalism and Anthropology from MSU and a master's degree in Environmental Journalism, also from MSU. She was worked as an environmental journalist in Maryland and Michigan. She and her husband, Brian Wheeler, live in East Lansing with their three children and countless pets. In addition to her work in the College of Social Science, she serves as an adjunct professor in the College of Communication Arts and Science.
