Seeing everyone come to campus, being able to experience campus for the first time. It was amazing, something like no other. MSU Accomplishments: Interned after my Freshman Year for Mayor Duggan’s financial campaign. During my sophomore year I interned for Gov. Whitmer’s campaign. My junior year I studied abroad in Australia and New Zealand. I’ve earned a seat on the Dean’s List for the past 3 semesters! Favorite MSU Memory: Beating Duke in the 2019 March Madness tournament! MSU Accomplishments: Participant in the MSU PLS Michigan Government Semester Program spring 2019; had a semester long internship at the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy. Studied the European Union and European social culture in Brussels, Belgium and Strasbourg, France on a MSU study abroad. Interned at a non governmental humanitarian organization CMMB in New York City summer 2019. Favorite Quote: “You’ve got to be odd to be number 1!” -unknown. Majors: Economics and Political Science. Future Plans: I will be joining Citigroup in New York as a Sales and Trading Analyst hopefully trading government bonds for Emerging Markets. Favorite PLS Class: PLS 494 - Identity Politics with Professor Sarkissian. The class was stressful, the readings too, and having to lead class discussions was really frightening but the depth of the conversations and how much more knowledgeable I left the class made the whole experience so much more worth it, Professor Sarkissian really pushed us and challenged us to think and I appreciated that a lot. I never got an A in the class but it still remains my favorite. Favorite MSU Memory: When we beat Duke 68-67 last year to make it into the Elite 8. Having our advisors as professors granted us the opportunity to build a closer relationship with them throughout the semester. Favorite MSU Memory: My favorite memory at MSU was having the opportunity to meet Governor Whitmer through the Michigan Government Semester Program. MSU Accomplishments: I had the opportunity to be a District Office Intern for U.S Representative Elissa Slotkin this semester. This was the most fulfilling experience I have had while attending MSU. Future Plans: Continue my role as a Project Assistant at the Michigan Organization on Adolescent Sexual Health where I work as a bridge between the organization and the Michigan Department of Education to develop professional development workshops for Public School officials who want to be more inclusive to young LGBTQ+ students in Michigan. Majors: PLS Prelaw and Comparative Cultures & Politics. Future Plans: Starting the week after graduation I will be helping to run a local campaign for judge. During the summer I am taking LSAT prep courses so that I will be prepared to apply for law school in the fall. I hope to be able to start law school in the fall of 2021 to help get me closer to my goals of working within the legal field. Favorite MSU Memory: My favorite thing about MSU that will always stick with me is the various relationships I was able to build with faculty and staff. There are several faculty in the PLS and JMC departments that were instrumental in my success and I will always remember their willingness to help and encourage me.
